As part of Parliament week on Friday the 12th November, we were lucky to host Lord Richard Best at a Trust event held at Wickersley school.
Lord Best spoke to our students about the role of a Lord in the House of Lords and how he became a Lord. Students from Year 12 and 13 politics, Year 11 citizenship, and school council members from Wickersley, Gainsborough, Clifton and Rawmarsh took part.
Jess Wilson and Libby Richardson, Y13 students, chaired a question and answer session where our students were able to ask Lord Best questions about a wide variety of issues ranging from environmental issues to housing and students learned a lot about what it is like to be a Lord in the House of Lords.
