Congratulations to all students on the list below who have been recognised by one of their Humanities teachers for their outstanding approach towards learning during the last half term.
An extra special mention goes to Laura Folkes, Y9, pictured above. Laura was nominated by her History teacher, Miss Johnson, who said “Since joining the school earlier this year, Laura has demonstrated all of the attributes of an outstanding student, consistently going above and beyond. Laura recently produced a canvas piece of artwork to commemorate the World Wars, which we have been studying in class. The artwork demonstrates her knowledge of Dunkirk to create a sombre background, with the forefront being overlapped by a watercolour image of two interlocking poppies. The artwork perfectly encapsulates the sombre symbolism of the Poppy whilst the text reminds the reader of the realities of war.
Well done Laura, I am very proud of the work you have put into this project.”
