On Friday 11th November at 11am all students took part in a minute’s silence to pay their respects to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the two world wars and other conflicts.
This act of remembrance is to mark the moment the guns fell silent on 11th November 1918 ending the First World War. Year 11 student Thomas Read played the Last Post while several classes looked on and marked the minute’s silence. Wickersley has a long tradition of honouring Armistice Day and all students were extremely respectful and a credit to the school.
