Climbing Trip

As an end of year reward for those students who’d constantly displayed good behaviour, we put on an outside climbing trip to the Peak District on Wednesday 20th July. The group of Wickersley School climbing club members spent the day climbing at crags in Burbage Valley and Lawrancefield.

They all rose to the challenge completing some technical climbs, working on both outdoor climbing technique and rope skills. The climbs included  ‘Bole Hill’ & ‘Tyrone’ on Lawrancefield’s Gingerbread Slab, and ‘Baseless’, ‘Steptoe’, ‘Triangle Crack’, and ‘Triangle Buttress Arete’ on Burbage’s Tringle Buttress.

Well done to Cooper Griffin, Oscar Griffin, Ellen Henry, Louis Johnson, Alfie Kay, George Baggaley, and Matthew Mangham.
