WSSC Y7 Computing Club Launch

The New Year 7 Computing Club at Wickersley School and Sport College is an exciting initiative aimed at introducing students to the world of robotics and coding. The club focuses on teaching students how to create and control robots using the Kitronik:MOVE Motor for the BBC micro:bit.

Through the use of a block-based code editor called MakeCode, students are provided with a user-friendly platform to learn programming skills while having hands-on experience with robotics. This engaging and interactive approach allows beginners to grasp the fundamental concepts of coding and robotics in a fun and accessible manner.

The club offers an excellent opportunity for Year 7 students to develop their problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and teamwork as they work on this robotics project. By the end of the program, students will have a solid foundation in robotics and coding, which can serve as a stepping stone for further exploration in the field of technology and computer science. The New Year 7 Computing Club at Wickersley School and Sport College promises an exciting and educational journey into the world of robotics and coding for young enthusiasts.

The club runs during term time every Tuesday after school from 3:15 pm until 4:00 pm.
