WSSC Girls Netball Success

Over the weekend, Students from 6th form and Year 10 took part in the Alex Reid Memorial tournament hosted by Sheffield Girls High School.

They made us incredibly proud with their performance over the course of the morning, playing 6 games against some tough competition and overall they achieved 4 wins with 2 losses. There were some really close games where our students dug deep to fight and get the win placing the team 3rd overall.

  • Game 1 – lost 9-3 to Woodhouse Grove A
  • Game 2 – Beat SHS A 9-8
  • Game 3 – Beat Grammar School at Leeds 5-4
  • Game 4 – Lost 10-7 to SHS B
  • Game 5 – Beat Woodhouse Grove B 6-3
  • Game 6 – Beat Bolton 7-6
A huge well done to the students involved: Sophie Bradburne, Evie Dilks, Chloe Wares, Ellie Mayfield, Emily Wight, Daisy Heathcote, Sophie McKenzie, Grace Betts and Bethany Bradburne.

In addition to the brilliant play above, we had awesome feeds into the circle from both Sophie Bradburne and Evie Dilks. Fantastic defence from both Grace Betts and Chloe Wares, consistent shooting from Bethany Bradburne getting her the joint player of the tournament and great control up and down the court from all our other players.

We’re very impressed with the quality play and discipline that they all demonstrated and how they represented Wickersley during the tournament.
