On Saturday 23rd March, the annual Rotherham Schools Football Association Cup Finals day took place at Wickersley School and Sports College hosted by Maltby Learning Trust in collaboration with Wickersley Partnership Trust.
This year we had some brilliant wins again from our Wickersley teams showing they are determined to hold their winning titles.
Our Year 10 team beat Oakwood a staggering 8-0 with goals from Johnathan Walker (3), Jack Ward (2), Archie Durrant, Lucas Cooke and Corey Kay across both halves of the game.
Our Year 9’s secured a 4-0 victory in the final of the Rotherham schools cup. This year group have now won the competition 3 years running which is an outstanding achievement!
There were 2 first half goals from Charlie Viggars, followed by 2 2nd half strikes from Bailey Miller and Logan Beveridge, meaning they are the first-year group to win the trophy in 3 consecutive years.
A special mention to the team’s defensive discipline – they have not conceded a goal in any of the 3 finals.
Well done, boys!
