Wickersley School and Sports College have been successful in achieving the School Games PLATINUM Award for the 5th Academic year running!
The School Games Mark is a Government – led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and in the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
This year’s feedback from the School Games Organisers emphasises all the hard work and dedication the PE Department and students involved have put into sport at WSSC over the course of the year.
“Their extra-curricular offer combined with their enriched PE curriculum is inclusive and accessible, with clear pathways for all including G & T and SEND.
The PE department are the driving force behind the success and their dedication and commitment to developing sport and physical activity needs to be recognised – students at Wickersley are set up with the best possible chance of sustaining a physically active lifestyle in adulthood due to their exposure at school.”
