Year 10 Wickersley student, Ellen, recently experienced flying in the Air Cadets! Here’s what she had to say about the opportunity:
‘This was an experience that was given to me by Air Cadets, which took place at RAF Leeming. Whilst in the air, I was accompanied by another pilot who spoke to me throughout the flight. For parts of it the pilot allowed me to take control and maneuver the aircraft wherever I pleased. Before coming into land I took the opportunity to undergo a few aerobatics which resulted in the plane doing loop the loops and barrel rolls meaning the plane was spinning upside down for some parts. It was an amazing opportunity which I hope will be offered to me again in the future.’
