Friday the 11th of October saw the annual Sponsored Walk take place at Wickersley School. The event, which has taken place annually for around sixty years, involves students completing a 20km or 13 mile walk across the Rotherham countryside, including footpaths through Roche Abbey and Laughton-en-le-Morthen.
This year, we saw bright but chilly conditions ideal for walking as students walked for their chosen charities which were Bluebell Wood, Rotherham Hospice and Rotherham Rise. Students learnt more about the charities during form period sessions, and enjoyed walking for such worthy causes. Once again, we thank English Heritage, who allowed use of the toilets at Roche Abbey, and our friends at Laughton All Saints Church who did the same.
Well done everyone!
