Wickersley Sixth Form Records Strong A Level Improvement

Wickersley Sixth Form’s Value Added (VA) results – the key performance measure for Post-16 education – have been officially published on the Government website.

Our 2024 VA results are the first to be published since 2019, making them the first opportunity to truly assess our progress since before the pandemic.

2024 WSSC Academic VA = +0.01

2019 WSSC Academic VA = -0.32

We’re pleased that our efforts are making positive progress, but we are committed to achieving the very best, and are working to further improve our VA and the overall quality of A Level education in the local community.

Mr Hardcastle, Headteacher at Wickersley School and Sports College, said: “The positive outcome of our most recent Value Added results is a testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our Sixth Form teaching staff and team, and of course our fantastic students. Our staff’s commitment to our students, and our students’ commitment to giving themselves the best start after Sixth Form, has made a real difference.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has positively contributed to the progress in recent years.”

Mr Gaynor, Head of Wickersley Sixth Form, said: “I am proud of the team and our students, past and present, for contributing to the improvement of Wickersley Sixth Form.

“We aim to always ‘Be Exemplary’ and we’re continuously striving to build on our student support, course offerings and overall sixth form learning environment year-on-year. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next five years.”
