On 23rd February 65 of our year 11 students had a taster day at one of the RNN colleges.
Over half of them went to Rotherham College and the rest went to Dearne Valley College.
Students got to take part in workshops in subjects they may be interested in studying next year. The workshops were very diverse covering subjects such as Hair and Beauty, Plumbing, Brickwork, Motor vehicle, Animal Care and Media make-up.
This gave students an excellent opportunity to sample college life, familiarise themselves with the environment, meet the teachers who will be teaching the courses in September and get an insight into what the course entails.
The day was a huge success proving to be very valuable for our students in terms of informing them of their options post 16.
We had some wonderful feedback on the conduct and behaviour of our students during the day.
