Congratulations to 6 of our Y13 Chemistry students who took part in the 2012 Royal Society of Chemistry International Olympiad in what was the departments first year in the competition.
The questions posed in the paper were challenging and were intended to stimulate much debate on, and enthusiasm for, chemistry – raising awareness of what the subject is all about. Tackling the paper also provided a good opportunity to develop some of the skills required for study at university and beyond.
Scores of 45 and above received gold, Sam Wibberley was our highest scoring student with 44 marks, just missing out on that gold!!!!
Sam Wibberley – SILVER
Ben Marshall – SILVER
Matt Roe – SILVER
Eddie Lau – SILVER
Lauren Brown – SILVER
Laura Taylor – COMMENDATION
Congratulations to all students who took part.
