I recently began my new role as Senior Assistant Psychologist at HMP Doncaster, and I have also applied to the Clinical Doctorate.

I was offered a place at the University of Cambridge; however, I rejected this and chose to attend the University of Birmingham to study Physics (switching to Particle Physics on day one). I have completed my Masters and did my PhD at Oxford University.

I am currently at the University of Texas, Austin continuing my PostDoc research in dark matter.

After completing her BSc, she went on to do a Masters by Research, studying lionfish in the Bahamas. After the six-month research period, Rebekah undertook an internship at the University of Western Australia, and stayed in Australia for two years, working in a range of jobs outside the Science field.

After two years, Rebekah moved back to the UK and began working as Entertainments and Education Supervisor at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, before becoming an Engagement Officer at the Field Studies Council. However, the connection to Science was missing for her, and in July 2022, Rebekah started in her current role, Engagement and Communications Officer at the Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), which is a part of Defra.

After Sixth Form, I chose to study Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University. I graduated and moved away from Rotherham to join the Police Force.

I spent my first three and a half years, in two different roles, across West Midlands and Derbyshire Police. However, I chose to leave the Police Force and pursue a career with Santander Bank. It was not a complete career change, as I utilise what I have learnt from my policing experience, as I work within the Fraud Investigation department. I use my relevant knowledge to investigate finance crimes, and help to protect customers from falling victim to scams and fraud.
